Members of the press and industry analysts can enjoy the complimentary Media Center in Petree Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Who should register as media for E3 2012?

E3 2012 media registration is open only to working journalists who are over the age of 17 with an accredited media outlet.

E3 2012 is a trade-only event and is not open to the public. No one under age of 17 will be permitted, including infants.

Qualifications of all media outlets will be determined by the E3 2012 media registration staff. Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity will not be qualified for a media badge such as:

Art Directors, District Managers, Graphic Designers, Publishers, Managers, Marketing Representatives, Public Relations Personnel, Sales Representatives and Senior Level Managerial staff.

I have qualified as media and attended E3 in the past. Do I have to re-register?

Yes. If you were qualified as media for previous E3 shows, you are not automatically guaranteed a media badge for E3 2012. You are required to submit new credentials each year to be considered for a media badge.

What are the credential requirements for an E3 2012 media badge?

Working journalists over the age of 17 that fall under one of the below categories may register for a media badge:

Print Media & Newswire Reporters:
To qualify as media, print and newswire journalists must provide:

  • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo, and
  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A bylined article from your publication written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of your publication and your byline).
Freelance Journalists:
Freelance writers from unqualified media outlets will not be admitted. In order to qualify as media, we require that you provide:

  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A letter from a publisher, editor or producer (on their letterhead) stating that you are covering E3 2012 on assignment, and
  • A bylined interactive entertainment industry-related article from your publication (above) written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline).
Online Reporters:
Web sites and podcasters must be previously established and updated regularly with original and current interactive entertainment industry news. To qualify as online media, please provide:

  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo, and
  • URLs to your articles with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity. Your articles must have been published within the last three months.
Broadcast Journalists & Photographers:
Each member of a broadcast crew must register separately. To qualify as media, please provide:

  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo, and
  • A letter from a producer/editor (on company letterhead) stating that you are covering E3 2012 on assignment.
Industry and Financial Analysts:
Please provide:

  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A copy of your business card with name, title and company logo, and
  • A recent report or bulletin on interactive entertainment with your byline.

If I pre-register for a media badge will it be mailed to me before the show opens?

No. Badges will not be mailed this year. All journalists and analysts must present their registration confirmation and photo identification on-site in order to obtain their badge and badge holder.

I am a journalist under age 17. Can I attend E3 2012?

No. E3 2012 is a trade-only event, and is not open to the public. No one under the age of 17 is permitted, including infants.

If I submit my media registration information after the Monday, May 14, 2012 registration deadline, is it possible to register on-site?

Yes, you may register on-site at E3 2012. You must bring photo identification and the appropriate credentials detailed above.

What facilities are available for media on-site at E3 2012?

The E3 2012 Media Center, in Petree Hall, offers convenient support for journalists covering the show free of charge. It features a fully equipped, large working newsroom including:

  • Mac and PC computers
  • High-speed Internet access and free wireless
  • Standard office equipment
  • Phones
  • Photocopy machine
  • A "news wall" featuring important exhibitor news and information
  • Media-only hospitality suite
  • Lockers

What access is granted with my media badge?

Your media badge will allow you access to the show floor, meeting rooms, media center, media hospitality suite, breakfast and lunch. Please note, breakfast and lunch is first come, first served.

Will my media badge grant me access to press conferences?

No. Off-site press conferences are by invitation only as determined by the individual companies. Please contact those companies directly.

When will the maps of the show floor be available for media?
